Intolerance

No Food Porn today.

I’ve been stuck here on goat watch and trying to catch up on some of my writer business stuff.

There’s a knock on the door. It’s Friend Scott.

They burnt his house to the ground last night. He lost everything except the clothes on his back, his vehicles and a change of clothes. His cat got out with singed paws.

Scott is okay. He was at work. He’s in shock.

The cops have a fair idea who did it.

Anyway, I’m very upset for him. He didn’t have much to start with and now he has nothing.

If this sort of intolerance doesn’t lead to damnation, then I don’t know what does.

People are evil. My faith is shaken.

  1. If there is anything I can do, or send to you, for Friend Scott, I would be happy to do so.

If you can maybe give a list of things that he might need that would help him in any way, I will see what I can scrounge up.

I know how much he means to you, and how hard this must be on him, and hopefully, in the interim, some of that faith can be somehow restored, and jsutice served if the cops know who did this horrible crime.

Not all people are evil. Just the really evil ones are.

Big hugs to both you and Friend Scott.

  3. I trust your friend will land on his feet. Some neighbours we could do without. We have some of those here.

I wouldn't expect too much satisfaction from the police.

I'm not a regular commenter here, but I wanted to let you know that my thoughts are with you and your friend. This is horrible. If there's anything that can be done, anything we can send you, please let us know.

  7. Thanks so much everyone.

I think what I'm going to do is get all of his clothing sizes and see if anyone has anything they can spare. At 6 foot 9--he's a hard to fit guy, so the Red Cross isn't going to be able to help him out there. I gave him a pair of my overalls and they hit him mid-shin:-). The plan is to cut them off for shorts so they aren't high waders.

I think we are both in shock.

  9. Dang Rosie!

post his sizes...there might be some things at our local thrift store...

If the police are pretty sure they know who...are they going to pursue it, or are they just going to go through the motions?

  12. Rosiedddd, this is so horrible and hateful that I don't even have words for it.

    I'm glad he's okay--would love to help, though I don't know any 6'9" guys...Let us know.

I will never understand the cruelty in this world. I'm so sorry Rosie, for both his loss and the heartbreak he must feel. Why can't people tend to the plank in their own eye before they worry about the splinter in their neighbor's eye.
I wish there was something I could do. Tell your friend I will be praying for him...yes, praying. Anyone who would do this is not a very close friend to God. Don't lose faith Rosie, some people are just misguided. Most people who love the Lord also love their neighbors...and they don't judge them. That's not our job...our job is to love.
