Ummm...Isn't she a bit young?!!!....And...like...well...ANOTHER SPECIES?

Now that we have all had a good giggle at the sheep's expense...Let me direct you to Northview Diary where there is a wonderful story about Toots, The Miracle Christmas Calf. It's a much better Sunday read than looking at my depraved sheep.

Happy Sunday

My depraved goat wants to (in Jenny's words) "marry Dinah (the dog)."

She said that a few weeks ago, and Joel said, "Uh, Jenny, I think he already did."

    thats pretty damn funny.
    on another farm note rosie....
at this new farm i'm caretaking the owner has these 2 nigerian dwarf goats. very cute, obviously, the way i see it they are just food waiting to happen, they're so vunerable. my dogs sure would like to eat them. i find myself wishing that some coyotes would come take them in the night so i don't have to mind them anymore...is that horrible of me? they just don't really serve a purpose cept to make the landlady giggle when she visits the farm.....sigh. any tricks for teaching dogs not to chase small skittish feral critters? my first though tis to get the goats in a smaller pen then take the dogs in on leash and top the crap outta them if they even look at the goats..right now the goats are just roaming 20 acres right now....no control!

hey thanks for the goat advice....its fairly close to what i'd suggested to the land-lady. i used to care for nubian goats on this dudes 75 acre place a long while back and he had made groovy little goat condos out of pallets, scrap wood and tin....some were second floor with ramps up to them....and wow their pen was a fortress.

and yes...super escapers those little ones. and incredible abilitly to leap really high without much effort. so unlike the sheep who are kind of fumbly and prone to accidents....
